Mr. O’Leary has been an event speaker on the topic of professional liability insurance matters for both the Bar Association of San Francisco and the American Bar Association’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee.
He served as editor of the 2007 and contributor to the 2011 editions of the Directors & Officers Liability Insurance Deskbook, published by the American Bar Association. Originally published in 1998, this book reflects on this history of directors and officers exposures and the insurance coverage called upon to address those risks, discussing existing issues as well as current topics and cases that reflect the dramatic legal changes over the past several years.

Mr. O'Leary is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). He has served on the Northern California Chapter Steering Committee.
Upon graduation from law school, he clerked for the late Honorable Calvin K. Ashland, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California and member of the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.
