In the 2015 edition of the Chambers Global legal directory, Sedgwick's Bermuda office and two partners were recognized for the firm’s work in Dispute Resolution and Insurance. Sedgwick Chudleigh is ranked for Dispute Resolution and described as “highly esteemed for insurance and reinsurance litigation, working closely with the firm’s international partners on major cross-border disputes” and “increasing presence in the public law arena, representing clients in judicial review proceedings and government litigation.” The guide specifically notes the firm’s successful defence of Bermuda's Ombudsman in a judicial review case relating to the investigation of the Corporation of Hamilton's activities, as well as its work on an application to substitute a commercial unsecured creditor petitioning for the compulsory winding-up of Titan Petrochemicals. Managing partner Mark Chudleigh and partner Alex Potts are listed as notable practitioners. The publication quotes sources as saying Chudleigh is “highly respected in the litigation field, particularly in relation to insurance disputes,” with extensive cross-border experience, and that “on the bigger litigations, he is the one you’d go to if you needed a big player.” Potts earns high praise from peers and clients as well, who say “his work is exceptional — he handles matters forcefully yet elegantly.” Chudleigh was also ranked as a leading lawyer in the guide’s Insurance section, with commentators calling him a “great litigator” who is acclaimed for “his experience, instinct, reputation and gravitas” and “has a good appreciation for multi-jurisdictional matters and a great knowledge of insurance.”
