Sedgwick’s Caitlin Conyers Called to the Bermuda Bar
Sedgwick attorney Caitlin Conyers was called to the Bermuda Bar before Chief Justice Ian Kawaley on March 10. Sedgwick partners Alex Potts and Mark Chudleigh made statements to the court about Ms. Conyers’ outstanding credentials and the invaluable contribution that she is destined to make to Bermuda law in the fields of commercial law and public law. Conyers has a stellar academic record and has exceeded expectations during her training at Sedgwick Chudleigh.
Conyers, who is a descendent of Sir Reginald Conyers, the former Speaker of the House of Assembly and one of the founders of the law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman, stated that her decision to practice at the Bermuda Bar had forced her to “grapple with the question of how I confront not only my own history, but also the history of this island I love so deeply.” She stated that she hopes to “contribute to a more equal society in Bermuda.”
